My interest in the natural world was sparked as a youngster who grew up birdwatching and exploring the wilderness throughout southwest B.C. Countless hours were spent with my family, hiking in the vast wilderness, in search of elusive wildlife and breathtaking scenery.

It wasn't until recently however, in my mid teens, that I picked up a camera. After receiving this basic hand me down DSLR Camera my passion for nature progressed into a love for documenting the birds, landscape and other wildlife that I encountered during my travels. An interest and practice in both painting and musical instruments coupled with my time spent observing and researching wildlife have helped me develop my own style in nature photography, the perfect creative outlet for myself.

Some say that nature photography is hours of waiting punctuated by moments of excitement. In many cases this is the reality of achieving that one great shot. However to me, like many other activities in life, you can't discount the journey and the little details you see along the way. I get no better feeling than to have the privilege of standing in a sea of wildflowers, watching the sun paint a coat of warm rays on a glacier laden peak, being encircled by Short-eared Owls hunting a field for voles, or feel the rush of a powerful Pacific coast wave against my legs. There is nothing like experiencing the raw power, delicate details, and beauty that the world has to offer. While only scratching the surface so far, I hope that my images can pass along even a tiny bit of the joy and interest I felt while making them. Perhaps even inspire you to seek exhilaration, tranquility and satisfaction from the world around you.
