EELGRASS MEADOWS

BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA

Hidden beneath the surface of the Salish Sea for much of the time, meandering drainage channels within expansive intertidal eelgrass meadows exhibit dynamics remarkably similar to those of terrestrial grasslands. Photographed from the air during a minus tide at one of southwestern British Columbia’s large estuaries.
