Hoffman’s Toe-toed Sloth, costa rica

Having recently descended to the forest floor to defecate, a Hoffman’s Two-toed Sloth pauses briefly on a tree trunk, partially obscured by vines. Photographed in the tremendously hot and humid lowland rainforest of Costa Rica’s Caribbean Lowlands.
